It is all hypothetical, yes. There are men who actually cry when they lose a baby. My husband did twice. There are men who callously abandon their pregnant partners. But in this tweet, it's hypothetical. We have to go situation by situation.

It's quite possible to be sympathetic to a grieving man and angry with a callous one who abandons his partner. It makes no sense to pick a side on this because men are individuals.

This is true. And I’m sure men do mourn the loss of their unborn kids. That said, I used to volunteer with pregnant teens & about 1/2 my friends have had abortions. I’ve yet to see a single man upset by his girlfriend aborting a baby. Maybe these men exist. I’ve never seen one.

Well, if they don't exist, no need to worry about them. They do tho. Someone I love dearly grieves the loss of his potential daughter, remembers her birthday and how old she would be even tho she would be 16 now.

I just think that if a man wants a say, he should marry the woman. Make a commitment.

That wouldn't give him a say and it shouldn't. She must still have the same right to make the decision.

True. I just mean that in order for me to feel like a man should even be allowed to have feelings (if that makes sense) he should be committed to caring for the child for the duration of that child’s life.

Yes, of course. Although, of course, people do still have feelings. Plenty of women who couldn't bear to have abortions who then go for adoption or are terrible mothers.

I also surf w guys. overheard a group of them other day joking @ how they don’t use FB because they’d hate for a woman to track them down to tell them they had kid. Like I said—tearful men may exist. But I’ve never seen one. (It’s different if you r married and miscarry.)

Well, if they don't exist, there's no need to have any sympathy or rage over their feelings.
