I'm often told I shouldn't bother breaking down bad ideas within academic & SocJus leftism, making them accessible and pointing out the problems because their proponents don't believe in reason & evidence & won't listen. I think this is the wrong way to look at it.

Thirdly, there are a considerable number of former lefties going right because they think only the right is acknowledging the problem on the left. Those of us on the left who see it need to be much more visible.

Fourthly, there is always a point to making reasoned arguments even if you feel like they're not hitting their target & mostly fall on deaf ears. History shows us that ideas & culture change constantly. We can all do something to influence how they change.

One problem is that distrust and paranoia are setting in preventing people from moderating their ideas even when they want to. At least that's the case in one college at one university.
