Firstly, I am not aiming these breakdowns at immovable true believers but at reasonable people who see the symptoms of the problems & recognise it as a problem, but are unclear on the underlying ideas & so are at risk of opposing it on the wrong premises or not opposing it at all

Secondly, I don't think there are that many immovable true believers but very many reasonable liberal leftists with a strong social conscience internalising some of its thinking and values in milder form. They remain open to better arguments.

Thirdly, there are a considerable number of former lefties going right because they think only the right is acknowledging the problem on the left. Those of us on the left who see it need to be much more visible.

Fourthly, there is always a point to making reasoned arguments even if you feel like they're not hitting their target & mostly fall on deaf ears. History shows us that ideas & culture change constantly. We can all do something to influence how they change.

It’s all so weird. POMO thinkers use language to compose sentences and string them together, albeit in convoluted and mystifying ways, to make claims. So they are beholden to reason in principle, but balk at or ignore its critical application.
