OK, I don't understand nutrition well but where do the calories come from when the breakdown looks like this?pic.twitter.com/wh6Y7N6GLB

Yes, it turns into stuff as you metabolise it.

Alcohol is not technically a carb, even though it comes from fermented sugar (carb). But our bodies can still metabolize it (see Krebs cycle), so it has calories.

Four substances provide calories the human body can use for energy: fat, protein, carbohydrates and alcohol. Proteins and carbs have four calories per gram, one gram of fat has nine calories, and on gram of alcohol provides seven calories.

Probably a relative. Whenever my sister eats something delicious (custard slice, butterfly cake, or whatever), she gets the taste explosion and I get the calories. Yes, I've contacted the Ministry. No, they haven't got back to me.

Your liver will turn the alcohol back to sugars that’s why heavy drinking is rough on the liver.

Alcohol is ~8cal per gram if I recall correctly. (i.e. ahead of carbs but behind fats)--I could be misremembering the specific value. Maybe it's 6/7? It'd still be ahead of carbs/protein.

I've never actually seen a nutritional label for an alcoholic beverage but I assume the US has different requirements.

It's about 60 or 70 calories per shot. You just don't see "alcohol" listed on nutritional labels! I would consider it a close relation to carbohydrate.
