That is not keto.
-
Yes, I can eat a small amount of broccoli and asparagus without going out of keto but only two small portions a day.
-
Sorry, not trying to be a nag. Diet's a difficult road to tread for all involved. Leafy greens are our friend.

How many grams of carbs/percentage do you aim to stay within a day? I'm fairly low and eat a shit ton of veg. I've heard keto strips aren't great because if you get a positive result, you aren't drinking enough water (e.g. urine should be too dilute for rest strips to work).
-
5%. <20 grams. I find I go out of keto if I eat more than two small portions a day. I test my blood.

Can I be as impolite as to ask you what your neuro symptoms are? Seizures? (I read keto diets are sometimes used on children with epileptic attacks)
-
Seizures are part of it but they are rare and manageable. The daily problem is headaches, nausea, dizziness, double vision and problems with co-ordination and balance.
-
Good thing it seems to help then.

Out of curiosity around how many calories are you working with when you do control for it?
-
Ah, yeah not too bad but as soon as you add fats it can bubble out of control easily. Good luck for the next week of experiments =)

have you tried the 'intermittent fasting' without the keto or calorie control?

I just got some bad health news and have to go back on keto or effectively risk my life. You are an inspiration to me!

I've been doing keto (keto light) for about 2 months. Lost 16 pounds. More just an experiment, but many benefits besides weight loss. I find my weight fluctuates +/- 3 pounds within a day so you really want to take a longer view, like every month or so.

Just keep it under 20g of carbs a day, moderate protein and lots of leafy greens. Incorporate MCT/unrefined Coconut oil and grass fed butter and make sure you are taking a lot electrolytes with water.

Cucumber, lettuce, courgette, spinach and cauliflower are my go to, all very low and cut through the fattiness. https://www.dietdoctor.com/low-carb/vegetables … Perhaps you end up having too much dairy when you don't calorie count? That can really affect some people.
-
Don't mean to go on but breakfast today was eggs, big leafy tuna salad for lunch (4g carbs), dinner included a big serving of leeks in creamy cheese sauce (8.1g carbs incl cream) and roast broccoli (3.7g carbs) so total 15.8g total for day - 2 meals revolved around veg.
