Our conservative party has not been friendly to LGBT issues historically at all but now that equal rights have been granted, those who do favour conservative values otherwise can find themselves more in tune with the conservative party.

So, if you were to say to a left-voting British Muslim, "You lefties want to destroy the family, deny gender differences and make everyone use preferred pronouns", you'd have a very high chance of missing the ball entirely.

so this poll is 26% Con 26% Lab 19% LD and 20% Green. Im not sure i would describe this as evenly devided between Left and Right. Though i suppose that at the time the LDs were in coalition with the Tories...

This is changing, at least in Canada. I am involved in conservative politics here and an enormous number of young, gay men are now in conservative politics because they are libertarians. Conservatism in North America is rapidly changing
