This is an interesting phemenon. The extent to which conservative = right voting and why. I will switch to my own country for this. Here, Hindus & Sikhs are more likely to vote conservative, Muslims to vote labour.https://twitter.com/AilusTochar/status/981866134189297664 …

A conservative Christian who moved to Pakistan would be much more likely to vote for the most liberal party available because this would give them the best chance of living as a conservative Christian. The most conservative party would not be good for them.

This probably also explains why the LGBT in the US overwhelmingly vote democrat but are equally divided between left & right voting in the UK. An LGBT person whose moral foundations are conservative cannot vote conservative when conservative values oppose their rights.

Our conservative party has not been friendly to LGBT issues historically at all but now that equal rights have been granted, those who do favour conservative values otherwise can find themselves more in tune with the conservative party.

So, if you were to say to a left-voting British Muslim, "You lefties want to destroy the family, deny gender differences and make everyone use preferred pronouns", you'd have a very high chance of missing the ball entirely.

I'm not sure partisanship is always that rationally thought out. People often just feel attachment to a political party because its "our party". Often for historical reasons of background or geography that might be barely applicable today.
