I dissagree, I think you should always be paid by the person you're working for. That's why I give myself €20 after mowing my lawn. I just take it out of my wallet, put it back in and say: "Good job, myself"

There is some research that indicates that a rational 50/50 split of ‘family life’ work that ignores gender stereotypical roles causes more unhappiness than one that judiciously takes them into account. I don’t know if this will change over time.

This is "cosmic justice" thinking, IMHO. On some level, it's not fair that women do more domestic work in the aggregate (prob true), so fairness must be introduced top-down by an authority that coerces e-v-e-r-y-o-n-e.
