Precisely. If you are a lefty accusing those who advocate reason and universal liberalism of being conservative, please stop thinking you're helping. https://twitter.com/GRIMACHU/status/980774504296255489 …

Because socialists are not liberal. And they never have been. Think of calling famous socialists like Vladimir Ilyich Ulyanoff (Lenin) and Adolf Hitler liberal. Not so much. Karl Marx, either. Trotsky? Nope. Mao Ze Dung? Unh uuh. Josef Stalin? Beria? Kruschev? Com'on, now.

Huh? How does the fact that radicals are not liberals relate to my point that calling everyone who isn't a far-lefty an alt-righter does not help the left? There is the economically radical left, the identity-politics left, and the liberal left.

The left can't be helped. There is no liberal left. The left is socialist. The right is capitalist. Are you a socialist or a liberal, because you can't be both?

The socialists have little influence culturally on the left now. The intersectionals rule and their focus on identity rarely addresses economics because then they'd have to include white, working class men. I am a social democrat.

I disagree. Redistribution of wealth is never far under the radar for any leftist. Neither is class warfare. They like to act well-meaning and innocent, but they always revert to wanting to steal from the workers in the end.

Oh yes. My support of strong welfare programs mostly supported by the highest earners is well-meaning. I support a minimally regulated capitalism because it enables people to make more money and their taxes can go to schools & hospitals &support for those unable to support selves
