This petition is not asking for a law to allow general tweets etc. It is asking for people to be able to express their views with NO restrictions. NO government intervention. You really want that?

No, it is not. Show me where it says this. It does not ask for the right to force others to listen to you.

You said 'to anyone you want' and I said 'no'. That is the restriction.

Having accepted that freedom of speech does not include the right to inflict your speech on unwilling listeners, yes, I really want people to be able to express any ideas without restriction.

So a neighbour of a gay person can put a sign in their window expressing hateful things about gays? How does the gay person avoid that sign? Move house? These things really happen.

Oh, I know. A feminist was just telling me how traumatised she was by having to walk past billboards of semi-naked women. We need to allow this because we cannot decide what is offensive. The majority will. Atheists & LGBT are particularly vulnerable.
