Ignoring for a moment the attack on Sam Harris who is an excellent person, this would make no sense if he were evil personified. If you can become associated with someone by disbelieving in a thing they disbelieve in, everyone is associated with everyone.https://twitter.com/letsgomathias/status/979605214260064256 …

Anyway, covering Islamophobia these last couple years has made me devoutly opposed to people like Sam Harris. I'm an atheist and I hate what people like him have done to that word.

Does this guy know Harris has spoken/written about the irrationality of all religion? Focusing on one bad dogma isn’t a defense of others. Prioritizing calling out the belief leading to the most violence isn’t automatically bigotry. The crit theory type lense isn’t too critical

Did he write "devoutly opposed to people like Sam Harris", and then mention his atheism? Me thinks that he belongs to a new religion and is unaware or a hypocrite.

Atheists in the past were crazy harsh on Christians, and it is still fair game to make all sorts of nasty remarks about the Bible belt. Makes me really curious why I've never been called, or even heard the term, Christianophobe from all these super tolerant people.

Terms like islamophobia are used so loosely, often simply as a means to shut down discussion. Legitimate criticism does not equal irrational prejudice

The term islamophobia is awful. It’s a rhetorical trick used to dismiss rational criticism of Islam as irrational fear.

I'd like to see a "Jeopardy" type quiz with Sam and some of his detractors about the history of Islam and the content of its holy books, preferably with an extremely sarcastic, non-SJW host.

I am without a doubt that if a group of Christians radicalized and began a new crusade upon non believers, Sam Harris would respond with same vigorous criticism.
