"Helen Pluckrose: if you would not like to be dragged into conversations that annoy you - perhaps you should be more careful in what you recommend, suggest or advise at the expense of trivialising real issues. May I suggest sticking to your area of expertise then?"

Do we all see the problem with this? Essentially: You don't want me to tag you into constant rants about how stupid and immoral you are after you've asked me to stop? You should have thought about that before you criticised feminism.

I'm sure she'd see the problem with: You don't want me to tag you into constant rants about how immoral and stupid you are after you've asked me to stop? You should have thought about that before you advocated feminism.

I'm alarmed by the number of times I have seen 'I'm justified in trying to force someone to hear me berate them because of how wrong they are. What else could I do? Look at what they said!' No, you are not & you'd see it as the abusive and harassing behaviour it is if done to you

If you don't want me to do this, stop saying that. Jesus. I actually saw someone justify making multiple accounts to stalk someone by saying 'I tried to leave him alone but I couldn't help it when he says things like that Gender Studies aren't producing useful knowledge!'

It's the same mentality, but much less severe consequences as people who say if ex-Muslims don't want to be persecuted, they shouldn't criticise Islam. It comes from a place of zealotry. 'I am so sure my position is morally righteous that it's justifiable to harass dissidents.'

I can deal with this but the mentality is alarming. It doesn't do to underestimate it.

This 'demanding to be heard' seems related to people's fury when a partner 'stonewalls' them during an argument. In a marriage, maybe there's a right to be heard... eventually, once tempers cool. In a public forum, there really isn't that right.

Yes. James and I have picked this apart. It's escalating really fast, this mentality. Usually connected to free speech. 'You say you support free speech but won't listen to me.' WTF?

There are so many paths to low self-esteem. This person sounds very damaged. Is it possible to just ignore them entirely and never mention them publicly again? I suggest: ignore, block, & reblock as needed - but file harassment reports on each acct to Twitter for real action.

I have people who GO 40 rounds with me too. It's a bit tiresome.
