Most of what you state here I would describe as faith. No 1 person knows the known universe, just as most do not know the "mind of God(s)" When observations do not work out as anticipated people do not deny the existence of the Universe, and if they are religious, same for God(s)

It's not what I am criticising as faith. No problem with working assumptions only provisionally accepted and subject to revision on better evidence. When observations of the universe do not hold up, people abandon them. Evidence of the universe remains. Same is not true of God
