Helen, I think you need to look past the lame language here, and think about the core idea. There is a 'product' aspect to feminism which equates a person to output. Corporate system buy-in, isn't it?

This conundrum has long been on my mind, but I'm incapable of organizing the facets well enough for an in depth exploration. Are women remaking systems or being coopted by them?

I'm just spitballing around this whole idea, but "opting out" is kind of a telling term. Indicates some ill fit, but with no better recourse. Wish I were better educated - don't have the words for this area of study.

Well, that's often the way. Most people have to work for money to support themselves and their families. Women are more commonly given the choice to stay at home if this is financially viable.
