This conundrum has long been on my mind, but I'm incapable of organizing the facets well enough for an in depth exploration. Are women remaking systems or being coopted by them?
-
Neither. They're just part of them. They still have more opportunity to opt out than men do.

Since power resides in the current system, it seems possible that women, in a quest for power, have fallen for a false set of priorities - ones that play into that system of corporate work mentality.
-
Or they just really want to enter professions. Would you want to stay at home with children all day? I know I wouldn't.
-
If it were that simple, no. But I did 'stay home' when they were young and am glad I did. I also spent much of that time in local civic responsibilities which others with corporate careers and children didn't have time to attend to.

I may be overly generous in my reading, but "lesbian", "man in a woman's body", acts as an (ignorant) placeholder for women doing work in what has formerly been seen as a male dominated sphere.

Or, when you notice a fault in yourself.
-
OH SNAP NO YOU DIDN'T!
