I wouldn't presume to speak for Helen, but I'd say that there's a difference between having a discussion about whether we should be allowed to do something and telling people that they should do it should garner different responses.

Precisely. Sam Harris may argue that torture can occasionally be justified, for example. He may not incite people to commit torture.
