When a law disadvantages women or strips them of rights, then by your definition, women in that system would be oppressed, no? Or do you think that there are no laws like this?

In some parts of the world there are and there women are certainly oppressed. I have the same rights as men tho and also greater rights over my children and the right to genital integrity
-
In the country where I live, women cannot divorce their husbands, (only husbands can divorce wives). Women are forbidden from serving in certain parts of govt. A portion of state-run courts do not allow women to serve as judges. There is work to do, doesn’t mean women are fragile
-
No, it doesn't. It means women are oppressed and there is work to be done. Surely, you see the difference between this and the point of my letter?
-
Would you say that a society that does not allow women these rights is patriarchal or misogynistic?
-
The definition of patriarchal is a society where men have power over women, yes.
-
Would it be wrong of a man to say this? Or would that make him the type of a “male feminist” you decry?
