Always the way. Avoiding society or men because a tiny proportion of them are violent criminals is a waste of life tho.https://twitter.com/BaileyNagy/status/978169551891456000 …

I can't see you again. This depends what you mean by sexual assault. I have been flashed at twice and slapped on the bum once. This was unpleasant but not painful. It wasn't as bad as having my bike stolen or having a shopping trolley rammed into my leg. Arseholes exist.

Yes but it's not irrational, especially if you or someone you know has been abused. Men have a responsibility to improve this state of affairs.

How would you suggest that those men who are in no way responsible for acts of violence against women or, statistically more likely, against men 'improve this state of affairs'?

You should avoid your husband in case he's abusive Get rid of your dogs in case they have rabies and bite you. TV will have to go in case it drops on your face. Books too because paper cuts are the FUCKING WORST Your daughter is fine because she's a girl (and girls are perfect)

I think we’ve had this conversation before, modern-feminism presents women as weak & in need of protectection and demand male allies speak up on their behalf. It leads to the patronising of women by ‘allies’.

Also I do like to point out men are generally more likely to encounter violence then women. We don’t present men to be ‘in need of protection’ but we do so with women.

I often hear things like "but women are more scared to walk alone/at night/etc". The statement is likely true, but it doesn't imply that women are actually in more danger. It is likely that men are, based on your stance, either braver or more careless.

This is not my stance but borne out by statistics, my stance is that restrictions placed on women in the name of safety & security are often (maybe not always) unnecessary.
