Thank *you.* You have nailed so many salient points here. I experienced a similar shift, from embracing feminism for its ethos of "female empowerment and universal human rights" (your words), to sadly turning away as it embraced narratives of victimhood and inequality.

"Negging" is a pickup artist thing where they are taught to put a girl down somewhat in order to keep her interest. For example, "The smart girls I talk to..." implying if one wants to be seen as smart one will say/do x. Manipulative cheese.
