I have a zero tolerance policy for semantic pedantry. It is almost never in good faith & is very common among those who wish to avoid discussing the substance of the issue at hand. Clarify terms, certainly so productive conversation can happen. Pick at words endlessly? Bore off.
It's just insisting on discussing the definitions of words in order to avoid the subject. Is this not being pedantic about semantics?

It might be pedantic, definitely, but that doesn't mean it's irrelevant. Going down the rabbit hole is definitely bad, but being clear is SUPER important.

This convo could easily be characterized as pedantic on my part, but it's still worth saying, because you and I really agree on the importance of clarity.
