Helen Pluckrose Retweeted EUisper Fox's WTO 'terms' are dead.

Nobody is defending hate mobs. We're opposing arresting people for having horrible ideas and expressing them on their own YouTube channels. You don't get to decide what people can and can't see. You only decide what you do.https://twitter.com/Jacque_Lyndon/status/976169104091570177 …

But people do watch YTube and are duly influenced by what they see. People talking bollocks about free speech like they know stuff, for instance. And no poor immigrant in fear is likely to take action against hate mobs without the police on side. Here we are full circle. Get real

'Influence' doesn't come in to your vocabulary. It's what that other Right Wing org Cambridge Analytica is being investigated for topically now. Targeting hate messages at susceptible and vulnerable audiences.

Targeting hate messages at susceptible groups online? Really? Not only is that not what they did that’s not even what they’re accused of.

C4? That must be definitive then. Here's where you are heading: Licences internet users Publisherz Charters Guilds Only approved books Only approved authors Only approved thoughts Utterly regressive. Free speech means exactly that, no exceptions.

That’s what people are trying for. Freedom is scary, and we have an entire generation of kids that were never taught how to deal with fear.

I dont think his idea was horrible. I saw this vid in 2016 and laughed my ass off. But I agree in theory, one should not be arrested for horrible/offensive ideas

The sad thing about this is that people were so offended about what was obviously a joke. Perhaps a joke in poor taste, but a joke nonetheless. When the court starts to arrest the jester, it doesn’t bode well for the peasantry.

We? I don't oppose it. It rather depends what the horrible idea is. And YouTube removes tons of videos every day. I don't agree with the Dankula conviction though: it was offensive and upsetting but I don't think it was dangerous or threatening.

Exactly. Freedom of expression _begins_ with expression we find offensive, it doesn't end there.
