No, we can't. That wasn't remotely the point. The point was pointing out the significance of saying that dialogue won't work as a forum for civil & productive discussion. (It's significant because this is how liberal society works.)

It's their loss. We can only offer to include them in our conversations. If they choose to decline and have only their own conversations and not invite anyone with different views, they pay the price of getting sillier & sillier and more & more irrelevant.

Then you've shut yourself off and you're welcome to do that. You are unlikely to get past your disagreement on the worth of one project and be able to have a productive conversation.
