Did you? I hadn't thought about it this way and it clarified a lot for me. It's not worth it for you if you didn't enjoy it. I did because it has layers and there's more than can be simply expressed.

I think it is suitable for a very niche readership. The people who do see what it is doing and how on a theoretical and literary level *really* love it but most people who just want to know what it is talking about do not.

Yes, it could be done in way fewer words and much more clearly and directly and he can do that. We've published things by him before where he has. I'd just like to have access to this version too. It's hard to explain why I was so delighted by it.

Yes, there is that but it's not just a parody. It takes what is good and pleasurable - the flexibility and expansive meaning and just the whole feel of it - adds a distinct literary quality and puts it to the service of reason & precision. It's wonderful.

I sound nuts so I am delighted to have found a handful of people who also see it. The pool of people who both appreciate postmodern writing and are also happy to see it put to this use is probably tiny.
