For me “low carb” means staying away from processed carbs but still eating nutrient-rich whole foods, fruit included. Brain cells like that kind of fuel.

Calorie countin is da bomb, just being aware of what you eat and knowing "Ok so I need to walk this far" is all you need if you have a balanced diet.

I found I couldn't do keto either- made me miserable. I'm much happier and losing weight by just focusing on unprocessed food and portion size

Oh so glad for you! I feel like a program like Weight Watchers is the most reasonable for many people. You still eat things you love and it's essentially just calorie counting. I hope much success for you Helen. You just gotta find what works for you. Whatever that might be.
