OK, my headaches are noticeably better and my co-ordination slightly better, I'll give you that. That is very nice. But WTF? I lost 8lbs in the first five days, gained 7lbs in the second five days, stayed the same for 3, lost 4 lbs in 3, gained 5 overnight.

It seems like everybody except me finds that the keto diet makes them less hungry. I find that a bowl of porridge and a hard boiled egg - 300 calories - keeps me going till lunchtime but sausage, egg & bacon in coconut oil - 800 calories - makes me feel hungry two hours later.

Also, I am actually really, really sick of fatty meat. I crave a salad followed by some pineapple. FML.

"pretty damn quick" is unfortunately not the way that changing body composition works. These things need time – just stick with it.
-
I will until the end of the month but if no progress, I'll go back to the low calorie diet which makes me consistently lose 3lbs a week.
-
How long have you been in a state of ketosis?
-
I started measuring on Saturday. I have been so far but not this morning, for some reason. 0.2. This is odd because yesterday was a very low carb day. 2%

Can I ask if you are doing this for a specific occasion or you genuinely want to be healthier from now onwards? Either way a better guide would be weekly picture comparison rather than daily weighing (body weight can fluctuate and often weight loss is lost water not fat).
-
Why does getting 1/7th of the data give a better picture? Surely you see fluctuations better when you weigh daily and get less discouraged than waiting a week and finding you've not lost anything coz the fluctuation is up that day.
-
Measuring daily and using them to create weekly averages seems like the best way to do it to me. Flattens out the fluctuations while at the same time giving a reasonable duration for changes to take effect.

I know a guy called
@Dave_Champion on Facebook, who is also doing the Keto diet. He has fasting days. -
I can definitely lose weight by not eating food. I often do fasting diets and they work well but I'm miserable enough right now and I want to see what the keto diet does on its own.
-
Have you tried listening to the
@jockowillink podcast every morning? It has a certain... motivating effect.

I know you're getting a lot of diet advice, so I'll just leave this here: the Mayo Clinic suggests a diabetic diet (low GI carbs, easy on the fat, lots of dietary variety) as the healthiest and most permanently maintainable. And it obv prevents the onset of diabetes.

You'd probably have less anxiety with a cocaine diet.

I have a buddy who is on his 36th day of literally no food. Water and vitamins only. I’m worried about him, but he claims he has plenty of energy and has lost almost 50 pounds.
