We had a cat who pretended to be injured to get us to take him in and care for him, many years he still started limping when he did something bad and was yelled at.

Ravens have been known to watch others bury food, then go dig it up. If a raven knows it's being observed it may pretend to bury food, fly off, and make the observing raven waste its time trying to dig up food that was never buried in the first place.
