Meh. Not "belonging" to a particular religion does not mean "not religious." Being atheist, I would ask if one believed in some kind of god or higher power as opposed to not. Is being better off the cause or the effect? Just pondering.

It does largely mean that tho. I think more people believe than say so but it's not much of a thing here. We tend to get quite embarrassed if someone starts talking as tho a god exists. Very secular.
