I feel very ill this morning. The keto gods are clearly punishing my transgression. How can one head contain so much pain?

Another calculator tells me this is 75% fat (which is what I want), 23% protein (3% too high) and 2% carbs (3% too low except there is no such thing as too low) Hmm. I really don't have this much time to spend thinking about food. I have work to do.

Please excuse my ignorance, I didn't realise protein hindered weight loss. In fact, I thought the opposite?
-
It hinders ketosis.
-
You need protein to get to ketosis
-
Requirements are 75% fat, 20% protein, 5% carbs.
-
I'm sure you've read Atkins. The first two weeks are very protein-fat heavy and carb light. That's how I've reached ketosis several times
-
I'm going to follow this plan strictly for now. Adjust later.
-
Do you know people who have managed the plan and kept weight off (for over a year)?
-
Yes, I'm listening to a lot of podcasts by people who have. They stick to it for life. Often to reverse diabetes.

This might be your issue. You don't need to eat "enough" fat. If you can just eat the amount of fat that you get with the amount of protein that you need and feel okay, that's better. You *need* to keep carbs under 20g and protein at whatever number you calculate that keeps your-

muscle from dissolving. The fat is just the calories that keep you full or not and its amount is what you can manipulate for extra loss. There is no set amount of fat for you to eat.
-
Well, there is if I follow the keto plan. Fat is key.
-
In that you shouldn't be afraid of it and that it'll make up most of the calories you eat, yes. If your particular plan insists on you stuffing yourself with fat past your satiety point, it's not a great implementation of keto.

I kept it very simple, as a general rule I try to keep it simple when discipline is involved. I ate advocados and drank cream. Yes Cream
just like that. And teaspoons of coconut oil in my coffee. I ate low carb home cooked food as well, but the gaps were filled with CREAM!

What about the good old baked bean?
-
It has carbs which she’s not allowed.

Why limit protein? In most low carb & diabetic diets there are few to no limits on protein....just mind the salt
