Yeah. 5 days is nothing. Weigh yourself every morning, calculate average for each week and compare weekly averages to get trend. Once again, there is no magic formula. Stay on deficit and you will lose weight. Very simple but you got to keep doing this consistently for months!

This is well known, yes. I lost 120lbs over a year by counting calories.
