OK, that's it. I'm just not eating any more. There is absolutely no way this can make me gain weight. Fuck it. Fuck my life. Fuck everything.

Dear Lady, relax. It’s not that terrible to carry a few extra pounds, whatever the food fascists would have you believe. Your body is insisting that you add weight to ensure the health of future children. It’s a compliment from nature.

No, it's not. My organs won't work properly, my knee joints are being damaged, I am infertile, have prediabetes and am in imminent danger of death.

Dieting is simple but hard to do. Calories in - calories out = Fat gain/loss. 3 ways. 1 Eat less. 2 Exercise more. 3 Combo. Doing 1 or 2 to excess is not recommended. Hard part is doing it. I'm very bad at that. ❤️

I've been every-other-day fasting. It's not as hard as I thought it would be. It's slow progress, and you should aim to keep the quality high on eating days, but it seems to be working, and supposedly there are many other benefits (such as autophagy).

I've tried longer fasts, but it's hard to do creative work in the middle of an extended fast. Every-other-day fasting doesn't affect your morning work sessions much, since you're still fairly well fed from the night before.

There's a book about EOD fasting, but I don't follow that plan. They actually give you 400 Kcal on the fasting day. I find it easier to just fast completely on the fasting day.

I know you're overwhelmed with suggestions. I'm not even suggesting. Just putting an option out there.

Try Joe Wickes Lean in 15. You get to eat things like burgers and curry! And it only requires 20 mins exercise a day to see big differences within a month. You can start the 90 day plan or get his individual books and videos for recipes & work outs! Don't beat yourself up 😗.

And I assume you're not touching any sugar or food w. HFCS or other 'undercover' sugar, and no sweet fruits like bananas. Might have to experiment w. ratios of fat, carbs, and protein. My wife actually gained wgt at first, had to cut down on prot, weirdly enough

The calories in - calories out stuff you can forget. Watch a Gary Taubes talk on it, and you'll see (or maybe you already know). His books are good too, long science version: Good calories Bad calories. Short ver: Why We Get Fat

Weight loss is not linear. There will be ups and downs. Do not abandon your plan. I went from 260lbs to 180lbs over three years following a diet of low carb-high protein, similar to keto. I always wanted the scale to be less every day or week. It seldom was.

Fasting (though intermittently, perhaps, to start) can actually be fairly tolerable and very healthy and reasonably good at helping one moderate their weight. I did it a ton when very sick. It was a definite part of my road to health.
