"m just following the food list." Got it. Respectfully, learn more than a food list. Learn what, when and how much to eat. Once you _understand_ what you're doing, you can go on automatic. I typically eat maybe a dozen convenient meals that I like, repeatedly. I'm on autopilot.
No, I can't commit to that right now. I got to that stage with calorie counting coz I had time to research then. I don't now. If a keto diet cannot be kept to by following a diet plan but requires considerable research, I'll have to skip it & go back to working on calories.

1. You don't need to become a Ph.D. You just need to know the basics. You're keeping carbs in a range, not eliminating them. You learn this by pee-sticks. You figure out meals that you like, and get into the habit. ->

2. I don't know all the science, I just know how to work it, and test it. Your body weight has always fluctuated, it still will. You're just more aware of it when on a weight-loss diet. You can still count calories, and slowly incorporate keto principles. ->

3. I only kept track of carbs long enough to learn what I can eat, and what I can't. I don't count them. I watch my pee-stick and use toilet time to review what I'm eating and decide what my next step is: continue this way, or make a change. ->

4. One needs to find the balance between proper attention and over-analysis. Rule of thumb: know the basics, be consistent, persistent and patient.
