I don't think it works if you're eating significantly more calories. Keto isn't a cure all for fat loss regardless of volume. I don't think you need to count closely, I never did, but you need to have some idea of quantity. Also, exercise + diet would accelerate weight loss.

No, but I don't know why I wouldn't be. There aren't any lower carb foods than the ones I'm eating.

I was surprised how many foods have trace carbs that add up when eaten in large quantity. I'd just verify you're in ketosis with a kit. Or count carbs strictly, more than calories.
