Hell, even with my much lower follower count, I find myself reluctant to respond to everyone. Keeping up with a dialogue with just a few people can take almost all your time in a day. I'm much more selective now with who I respond to.

People have only so much energy to engage in debate, intellectual pursuits. People can pick their time, place and with whom to engage. I've been sitting back flabbergasted as this "you owe me your time if you value free expression" trope has gallivanted across twitter this week
