I always thought Phil was a decent guy who I just disagreed with on stuff. So strange then to see him resort to secondary accounts to avoid blocks and thinking it’s ok to use someone’s children in order to “trigger” them.
I agree with that. People get bound up in a cause. But there are limits. This is neverending and includes, well we've been here. I think it crosses too many lines to be simple over-zealousness.

2/3 I certainly think that, given that the 411 here had to do with children it's pretty bad. But in my mind there are certain empirical questions that I'm curious to see answered that seem important. For example, to what degree does the impersonal nature of, say, Twitter lead one

3/3 to stop thinking about their interlocutors as human beings. If this happens, and I suspect it does, but haven't seen relevant research: does that undermine one's agency in a certain way. One answer is to say no they're bad, another is to say, maybe. Now the degree here is bad

This is something I try to do before responding to someone. The pressures/influences of social media shouldn’t remove responsibility for ones actions. I’m interested to see what he says/does going forward.

1/3 I think showing up at someone's house certainly does. Moreover, I think revealing certain kinds of personal information *often/mostly does. I am sitting on the fence about *some details with respect to public figures - I honestly haven't had time to sort my intuitions here.
