Not really. I genuinely don't care whether you think I'm a good sceptic or not. It's not a label I think much about and neither is your opinion of me. I would just like some agreement that when someone asks someone else to leave them alone, that person should do that. https://twitter.com/CriticalReader7/status/971088205293522949 …

You have my agreement on that Helen, I'm not pro-harassment, however, if you ask someone to leave you alone just because they dared to criticize your belief system, you are a snowflake, can you agree to that?

If someone asks you to leave them alone, the reason is irrelevant.

I would agree. But if Boghossian doesn't engage his critics and avoids them, he's just a snowflake. He has a right to avoid them, but it still makes him a snowflake.

That would be fair criticism. However, it's not true. I was at events with him two weeks ago where he invited 5 people with opposing views but none showed. Then he sent out a general invite. Then he took critical questions from the audience first. Also: https://twitter.com/peterboghossian/status/970525576623669249 …

It is not disagreement he is avoiding but Phil Torres. I am now avoiding Phil Torres too because he scares me.

I agree the reference to his daughter was inappropriate, but it wasn't a threat... I'm not seeing any evidence for why anyone should be scared of Torres.

Then we'll leave it. Hopefully, you'll agree that even if you don't see why anyone would be afraid of someone who persistently tried to force contact with them against their wishes, this wish should be respected.

If Boghossian really insists on not having any contact with Torres, that is his right and it should be granted to him, but he should be prepared to be called a snowflake for it because Torres has made some legitimate criticisms of him and he's deliberately not engaging with him.

Call him a snowflake all you like! Just don't stalk him. Call me a snowflake too and anyone else who'd avoid someone behaving like this. It doesn't matter what you call him as long as you don't force contact with him.
