But no-one is doing that. We are literally never talking about the formulation of theories based on evidence and the acceptance of knowledge as provisional when we criticise cultural constructivism.

Well the origins of this exchange are well beyond me now. But vague memories suggest to me that you were using knowledge to mean our accounts of the world AND the things in that world. Knowledge is of things, but it's not the things themselves.

OK, so James has explained to me what you mean here. I quite possibly did conflate the things in the world with knowledge of the things in the world when talking abt objective knowledge which I shouldn't have but I obviously do realise that these are not the same & said so.
