Yeah, this isn't the point. The right is far worse than the left. There's just merit to dealing with what you know and getting your own house in order. How much credibility must the left have lost to let Trump get in, ffs. We need to fix this.
We argue for refining institutions and continuing liberalism as a way to produce progress. That was the whole point. It works.

The postmodernists you highlighted in you dichotomy would argue that this could create a kind of stagnation. By simply refining out dated institutions as opposed to creating new ones. If that position is false, why is it false?

Because this hasn't happened. We have made incredibly fast progress on gender/racial/LGBT equality in the last 50 years. Let's keep doing that.

Yes, please read the second essay I sent on postmodernism. They are trading on the good name of the civil rights movement, gay pride, feminism and claiming to be it's heirs. They are not because they've gone back to judging ppl by race, gender, sexuality.
