Yeah, this isn't the point. The right is far worse than the left. There's just merit to dealing with what you know and getting your own house in order. How much credibility must the left have lost to let Trump get in, ffs. We need to fix this.

Are you telling me that the Bernie vs Clinton in fighting was over postmodernist thought? Or the Comey letter? The left didn't lose to Trump because of postmodernists.

There are a lot of interesting things you say here. But I will highlight a few things that frustrate me:

      1) You seem to want to lump together a bunch of people and call them postmodernists, as if they have a unified conception for the kind of change they see necessary. I don't think that is possible.

Incrementalism/revolution, objectivity/subjectivity, relativism/pluralism are all areas in which postmodernists thinkers disagree, which leads me to the next point.

      2) The actual citations used for what postmodernists think are scarce, and not very good at eliciting your concerns. If you think a group is doing something, provide a concrete example of them doing it. Otherwise, I think you are just trying to create a narrative.

      3) Fitting with the last point, in several places you say "In fact, wrong" or "utterly false", but you don't explain WHY these views are wrong, or why they are false.

You say it right after the dichotomy in the Lindsay article. You say it is utterly false.

We argue for refining institutions and continuing liberalism as a way to produce progress. That was the whole point. It works.

The postmodernists you highlighted in you dichotomy would argue that this could create a kind of stagnation. By simply refining out dated institutions as opposed to creating new ones. If that position is false, why is it false?

Because this hasn't happened. We have made incredibly fast progress on gender/racial/LGBT equality in the last 50 years. Let's keep doing that.

And who was part of that change? I bet you I can find a few postmodernists in support of LGBT rights.

Yes, please read the second essay I sent on postmodernism. They are trading on the good name of the civil rights movement, gay pride, feminism and claiming to be it's heirs. They are not because they've gone back to judging ppl by race, gender, sexuality.
