Someone cut out a 90 second clip of me talking about inclusion at the Damore event. Nice. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=58-b2vwDj44&feature=youtu.be …

She’s losing her Essex accent though. It’s becoming BBC now

No, I'm not. XD It varies hugely & naturally depending on where I am! My friends and father all have Essex/London accents and when relaxed & chatting, I find I have one. My academic colleagues & mother all have BBC accents & when speaking formally, I find this one emerges.

The Americans already think we all speak like Judi Dench. Hopefully, they got to hear the real thing during casual chats with you. Your hint of Essex is so very endearing

'Th' becomes 'f', 'ts' & 'h's disappear and 'l' next to a consonant kind of becomes a 'w'. 'I'll have three bottles of milk' becomes 'I'll ave free bo''les of miwk.' I am particularly bad with the 'l's.

O, I thought it was one sort of the London accent, mostly black londoners who talked like that.

Alternatively, see my cousin here, an actor. My accent ranges between his and BBC or received pronunciation depending on setting. https://media.spotlight.com//metadata/videoforpublication?artistRef=M45346&pub=1&isIntro=false&artistName=%22PAUL+PARISER%22 …

It has much more London in it. It is nicer. This is why I like to say I am from London rather than Essex tho actually I am just outside London in Essex.
