Yes, it's best not to listen to radfems on this.

I’d slightly disagree with you here, because the trans umbrella is now a large collection of various trans and gender non-conforming people, and for some of whom it’s a political identity rather than based on a diagnosis of gender dysphoria. Also don’t those scans correlate...

I co-authored this about it:https://areomagazine.com/2017/09/27/an-argument-for-a-liberal-and-rational-approach-to-transgender-rights-and-inclusion/ …

I know, it’s very good. I was mainly making the point about the size of the trans umbrella and gender non-conformity not necessarily being rooted in objective science.

So what do you think about, eg, trans women being included on Labour's women-only shortlists. Are you in favour, and if so on what basis? I'm going to guess you probably think they shouldn't have women-only shortlists haha. But still.

I think one justification for having AWS is to give women a chance to get into politics after having children and this doesn’t apply to trans women. Also some transwomen may have only come out in their 40s, I think they should at least have lived as a woman for half their lives.

A shortlist for women with children? I suppose that would be OK if anything would.

I just think it’s one of the factors which AWS is based on, I think women’s biology and reproduction has been (is) the root of imbalance. It’s identity politics but in these circumstances I think they’re arguably valid.

I don't think it is identity politics if based on a measurable disadvantage. I'd be happier with schemes to benefit people who'd lost a lot of years of potential career development to child-rearing. It needn't focus on heterosexual, cis women then even tho they'd be majority.
