Someone cut out a 90 second clip of me talking about inclusion at the Damore event. Nice. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=58-b2vwDj44&feature=youtu.be …

I am still very new to public speaking. Over that week, I did five different speaking things. This was the first. I was still rather stuttery but better than I sounded in my own head. By the end of the week, I was much more confident. Getting there. I much prefer writing.

Even on Twitter, I get a few seconds to select precisely the right words which get the meaning and tone I want and this makes a lot of difference to my clarity, I think.

You looked incredibly disinterested during the event. Then you spoke, revealed you'd been paying deep attention, and thunder clapped with your remarks. #impressed.

I was worried. Then you spoke. I realized you were -thinking- about what people had to say. There's that element of theater to public speaking and video appearances. They take a while to learn. Or fake. :-)

You made your point very well and clearly. And British English is much more understandable than American for people whose first language isn't English! Although I only drink tea when very ill.
