I had cause to look this up recently and can therefore confirm the 5% (I thought it was *lower* than that, but I was mistaken). But is this culturally constructed "knowledge" or simply culturally constructed "belief"? Is there even an objective difference? (1/2)

I should add that this is clearly more your field than mine, and I'm coming at it from a (probably flawed) common sense perspective. But I hope that by arguing the toss with you I might actually learn something new.

Of course. Did my quote tweeting seem adversarial? Sorry, if so. I've been told this but I just do this when something is more broadly relevant.

"Adversarial"? Well, only in a good way. Not in a shouty "you're a Fascist" way. I was just worried that *my* tweeting might be seen as adversarial. I come from Usenet, where polite adversarial discussion is - uh, not the norm exactly, but more common than it is here on Twitter!
