Basically that is the nature of postmodernism - it isn’t a single coherent ideology. It’s a descriptor of various modes of thought that came after, often in reaction to, modernism (which also wasn’t a single coherent ideology).

I think the essay demonstrates the issues with postmodern thinking in the academic world quite well. Some people (see a certain J Peterson for example) certainly use it as a boogeyman and a catch-all for all the things they don’t like.
