No, that's not it. We absolutely do need to fear bad ideas that gain great cultural currency & become a dominant in society. We need to reason with our own moral tribes when they become infected by this in both intellectual & political thought. https://twitter.com/cultofdusty/status/970414858045968387 …

Here: https://areomagazine.com/2018/02/07/no-postmodernism-is-not-dead-and-other-misconceptions/ … When was the last time you heard someone say some variation of 'Stay in your lane' or 'speech is violence' or assume that people of specific demographics have unique insights or insist that all differences are socially constructed?

Postmodernism, a scalpel-like dissective mode of thought, escaped from the careful laboratory environment of pure philosophy to the 'interdisciplinary' fields where it was bastardized into a lazy & vicious form of criticism masquerading as intelligent discourse & leading nowhere.

It got politicised and then condensed and simplified to make it user-friendly, yes.

Did a deep dive on PM as a Philosophy major in the 90's then intentionally turned it off because it was too vicious a mode of perception outside of philosophical theory. I cringe whenever literary / crit theory / gender / soc studies people use it. Like toddlers with handguns.
