No, that's not it. We absolutely do need to fear bad ideas that gain great cultural currency & become a dominant in society. We need to reason with our own moral tribes when they become infected by this in both intellectual & political thought. https://twitter.com/cultofdusty/status/970414858045968387 …

Postmodernism is at most associated with the problem. The problem being a particular ideology and partisan politics related to the excesses of a dominant left. An ideology which has come to amount to a majority vs minority Marxism (intersectionality)
-
No, Marxism has very little, but not nothing to do with postmodernism. Intersectionality explicitly draws on postmodernism but makes class the least relevant characteristic.
-
The class system in intersectionality being the cis straight white heterosexual western English speaking supremacist oppressors, verses all other demographics
-
OK, that's not Marxism tho. That was about economics. Marxists were universalists and also believed in objective truth and science.
-
Whether we want to call it "marxist", is whether we want the term to mean the ideological dialectics of oppressor vs oppressed?
-
Lets not. That would just be confusing. Slavery abolitionists would then be Marxists.
-
The problem is that they are seeking to cast demographics itself as a supremacist system of oppression. Majority as "privilege", minority as oppression. To cast familiarity, norms, perception as bias, stereotyping, discrimination.
-
That is the problem, yes.

Not everyone who believes in the historical subjugation of women at the behest of men calls themselves a "radical feminist" either, even though that is the defining dogma of that ideology.

You should clone yourself so you could teach, talk everywhere. You make everything other clever people make sound like "wtf", easy to understand. Also fun to read, really fun when you're pissed off

This seems dubious. Most Democratic candidates could not meaningfully be described as postmodernist. It seems far more likely that concentration in urban areas, gerrymandering, and other prosaic factors are deciding elections, than that postmoderism is. 1/

Democrats losing elections are a funhouse mirror; we look into electoral losses and see our own passionate beliefs staring back at us. 2/2pic.twitter.com/EXUDQjuMld

What has historically separated the left and right is that one side has been open to free thought, and uncomfortable ideas and less constrained because of religious virtue.

But what if we attack both sides? Both white nationalism and postmodern are bad ideas.
