Btw, if you want my sincere point, here it is: journalists and thinkpiecers need to be a hell of a lot more careful in how they write. Making sensational claims as Lindsay does, without citations, and without the ability to provide citations, needs to not happen. It's dishonest.
-
If Lindsay wants to write a more accurate piece, citing people who adopt a blinkered and biased worldview, and pointing out how their progressive tendencies causes them to be biased, he should. Unfortunately doesn't sell.Anti-"moral relativist" moral panic does. That's a problem.
-
Do you not see how it could be a problem to accuse progressives of being happy with throwing gay people off rooftops? That kind of tabloid writing spreads dangerous and divisive myths. It can be very difficult now to talk about progressive issues without being accused like this.

Oh fuck off. What starts out as a perfectly reasonable criticism that he can't name a single progressive who is comfortable with throwing gay people off rooftops turns into a twitterstorm of people shouting irrelevant citations, and now I'm the one who just wants to antagonise?
