Do you really think progressives believe it's ok to throw gay people off rooftops if you live in Iran because "relativism"? That's a belief you genuinely hold? That progressives are moral relativists who think it's ok for regressive theocracies to throw gay people of rooftops?

Because I notice that you literally couldn't find a single tweet to support your claim. (Linking to wikipedia is bad by the way. If you must link to an internet resource to help people who can't google "John Rawls" you'd be better off with the SEP)

It seems really unfair to me that you can get away with making up a bunch of people, not cite a single one of these supposed "many examples available to draw from", and then get that published in a widely read magazine You've got a great opportunity there and you're abusing it

I don't know what to say to you if you've not spotted progressives opposing criticism of human rights abuses in Muslim cultures as racist and Islamophobic & claiming that the west is no better than misogynistic & homophobic regimes. Overlooking or excusing abuse is not moral relativism, unless you think that the Catholic Church are moral relativists. Thus, the failure of progressives on this front is not down to their relativism, it's down to their bias and blinkeredness. This is an important distinction.

What? Excusing your own failings is not moral relativism, no. Excusing others on cultural grounds is. Did you not see Gay Pride pressured to stop ex-Muslim LGBTs holding banners which criticise Islam but identical ones which criticise Christianity are fine?

Did you not see Owen Jones criticise Tim Farron for thinking homosexuality is a sin but supporting gay rights anyway and congratulate Mehdi Hasan for saying the same thing? Gender segregation OK in Islam. Gender specific modesty codes. FGM even. You're being ridiculous.

Again, not relativism. And I very much doubt that @OwenJones84 is ok with throwing gay people off fucking rooftops, which is the point.
