Hahaha. I actually emailed Peter about being in Portland soon and wanting to sit in on his class. I explicitly said that I wouldn't be disruptive. Here's the exchange:pic.twitter.com/2Q264WYJiV

In what sense is it acceptable to inform a professor at a private university that you intend to sit in on their class? That is not how it works. You must either be invited by the prof or be officially auditing - which always has stringent rules.

You are ignoring the fact that Boghossian's response indicates that there have been previous negative interactions and that the professor does not welcome the visit.

Yes, in addition to the general courtesy & security requirements for a classroom visit, there must be some rules in place to enable professors to refuse entry to people who are ideologically opposed to them, have stalked them & intend to intimidate them.

The problem would be clear if it were feminism rather than New Atheism that Phil had written about with such loathing & a feminist he were obsessing abt on social media & she'd had to block him & seek legal advice & then he announced intention to sit in front of her classes

And if he'd then posted - "Hahahaha - look she's threatening to get security involved and call the police if I go near her! What a snowflake!" This wouldn't be a matter of 'But why is she so closed to other views?' This is not normal. This is abusive. It is deranged & obsessive.
