You yourself have admitted to be blocked by various people and from certain forums and called them snowflakes for not wanting to talk to you and then posted evidence of yourself threatening to go & sit in the front row of their workplace for two weeks.

I think Sargon has the sort of fans that go after people image witch hunty fashion, so that may be the difference. But it seems a bit like one group wants to call people snowflake but find clever and interesting ways to avoid criticism themselves.
-
Quite possibly but Phil is also in witchhunty circles. We can be against witch hunting consistently Depends what we mean by 'snowflake'. This is less about accepting criticism & more about trying to prohibit certain speech, particularly in universities, because words do harm.
-
I will put it another way, I feel people find ways to make things that are very similar seem dissimilar and I think that's happening here. But you know more of the detail of this, but from the outside, this snapshot looks pretty bad.
-
Could you be a bit more specific? I still don't know what you mean?
-
Perhaps PT got sensible responses when he first tried to criticise and that's why these repeated attempts to engage by him are seen as stalking, maybe they are as extreme as you say. But just from this snapshot it looks like they want an excuse not to respond and engage.
-
I think this is good enough reason not to respond & engage but I also think you don't need one. Shld just be able to ask people to stop contacting you & they respect this. I've been dealing with someone like this for 18 months now. I don't need to justify wanting to be left alone
-
He might be a lovely bloke. He might be right that God exists & that I must understand this. I still don't have to hear him. I've blocked him everywhere, gotten legal advice, ignored online obsessing & if he threatens to turn up at my workplace, I will call the police.
-
There is no problem with PT being very critical of penis hoax & writing abt this. Or being very critical of new atheism & writing abt this. The problem is trying to force individuals to hear it when they've made it clear they want him to leave them alone.

Have only just stumbled on this and have no idea what the backstory is but even regardless of past interactions, P's email to PB is horrendously rude. I would never presume that I would be welcome to sit in on a class that is not open to the public. 1/
-
I regularly attend talks at Harvard & when it’s unclear if they are open to public I always email dept to request permission to attend. I don’t tell them that as I saw it posted on their website I shall just show up because I’ve been welcome to other talks at Harvard in past. 2/
-
Profs may have any number of perfectly reasonable reasons for not welcoming a stranger sitting in on a class that they’re in no way entitled to sit in on if they’re not a paying student: protection of IP, student safety, or simply just not wanting distraction of a visitor. 3/
-
So at a minimum I find the email to PB incredibly presumptuous and rude. If it were me, I’d deny it on those grounds alone. /end
-
Is it presumptuous and rude? It seems silly, as they know each other and the purpose of asking if it's ok is to make a point, but very polite.
-
But he didn’t ask. It’s presumptuous and rude to tell anyone that you intend to simply show up to their private class uninvited, regardless of prior association. This is apparently not okay for someone not affiliated with PSU.https://twitter.com/moolecular/status/970054013700861952 …
-
I’d also add that this is entitled behavior coming from a member of the media. Every school will have different rules but when I worked in academia press visits needed to be cleared through press office. 1/
-
If that’s also true at PSU then he would need both permission of instructor & press office. But it’s all moot since he is perceived as being a stalker. He simply has no right to be there. /end
