The root of a word isn't the same as the meaning. Not to be funny, but I don't care if people don't care. There is a distinction between someone's biology and the role in society that is assumed to go along with it. Someone writing about gender studies definitely knows this.

They are very heavily correlated and there is good evidence of causation. For instance newborn males and females have sex differences in interests that play out through one's life. Gender studies often ignore this evidence in favor of social/cultural considerations.

That difference btw, is that males tend to be more interested in things, and females more interested in faces.

I totally get all of that, and accept that research. But it has little to do with what role you should play in society.
