I mean, the tone might be unsettling if you're a "snowflake" (Pete's term). If the situation were reversed, I would welcome Pete's presence (seriously, try me)--yet he's the free speech absolutist, not me. :-)

Again, people being concerned about this kind of behavior doesn't make them "snowflakes." Several people in this thread have read your email to him and found it threatening. When several people tell you your behavior is threatening, it might be time for some introspection.

Look, if I were like Peter, Shermer, Lindsay, or someone else, right now I'd call you a "loser" or a "bedwetter" (Shermer's terms), block you on social media (Shermer, Peter, Lindsay), perhaps threaten you, and then use this as an example of how overly sensitive everyone is. :-)

Try doing that instead. Being rude and blocking people is so much better than obsessively stalking for months.
